More Information and FAQs
-
A $50% deposit secures your commission. Once the initial deposit is received, your place is reserved and the creative process begins.

For portraiture, if you are local to Dallas, TX, we may arrange a photoshoot to create the perfect reference images. If distance separates us, we will thoughtfully review your existing photographs or collaborate on guidance for new images to be taken. Whichever path we choose, I’ll try by best ensure your final reference meets the artistic standards essential for a timeless portrait.
For landscape and seascape paintings, I typically work directly from your photographs (and only sometimes mine.) Please note: I cannot paint from images that you do not hold copyright (ie. photographs taken by anyone other than you.) In some cases, a copyright release form may be an option if using a professional photographer. However, oftentimes my paintings come together via multiple photographs. I am happy to make lighting adjustments, create a more dynamic composition, change the mood, add a different sky, paint with a custom color scheme, etc.
Each piece I create is a reflection of my artistic style and standards. If the provided photos aren't suitable, I reserve the right to decline the project. Should this occur, I'll inform you promptly and issue a full refund.
-
To respect the rights of all artists, if the photo you intend for me to draw or paint was taken by a professional photographer, please download this copyright release form and request the photographer’s signature. Ensure the signed form is ready when you send your photo to me. Otherwise, it will be assumed that you hold (and thus release) the copyright to any image(s) you send. Thank you!

After selecting the final reference image(s), we will confirm the artwork’s size and finalize the project details, including total investment.
-
In large projects or those involving specific color palettes or compositional adjustments, I may provide a small, hand-painted color study for your review. This step ensures we are fully aligned before moving forward with the final piece.
-
Once the composition and vision are finalized, I will begin the full painting. This stage generally requires 6–10 weeks, depending on complexity.
-
As the painting nears completion, you will have the opportunity to review the piece. Minor refinements may be made to ensure your vision is fully realized.
-
Upon your final approval, the remaining balance is due. Delivery will then be arranged.

All artwork is shipped unframed, and some art mounted to archival mats for shipping safety. However, I'm always happy to offer framing suggestions to help you find a style that complements your piece beautifully.
