Hello! I am so glad you’re here! I am Sarah C. Nightingale, the artist behind “From Childhood”: an ongoing series of custom charcoal drawings. If you’re not familiar with the series, a good place to see examples of what has already been created is on my instagram page: @SarahCNightingale

In this series, all drawings are drawn by hand in vine charcoal on fine art paper at 8 x 10 inches from photographs provided by clients like you. I seek to create drawings of children in natural or outdoor settings and parent-child scenes. Drawings from this series depict full figures, focusing on capturing the moment of the scene rather than emphasizing highly detailed faces or portraits. While smiling faces are lovely, candid shots are preferred.

To respect the rights of all artists, if the photo you intend for me to draw was taken by a professional photographer, please download this copyright release form and request the photographer’s signature. Ensure the signed form is ready when you send your photo to me. Otherwise, it will be assumed that you hold (and thus release) the copyright to any image(s) you send. Thank you!

While many photographs are beautiful, not all may translate well into a drawing. If the photograph you submit doesn’t align with the artistic direction or style of the series, I would be happy to collaborate with you to select an alternative image that better fits the vision.

Please fill out the form below to officially begin the process of creating your custom drawing. I will reach out via the email you provide within 72hrs (please check your SPAM folder!) You can then respond with the photograph(s) you’d like me to draw, if you haven’t already uploaded them, or we can discuss ideas if you don’t have one chosen yet. Drawings are completed in the order gift cards are redeemed. Depending on demand, drawing may not begin immediately if earlier slots are filled. The drawing process typically takes 3–4 weeks once I’ve begun.

The finished drawing will be shipped to the address provided below between July 1 and August 31, 2026. (Free U.S. shipping only. International shipping fees are not included with the gift card and payment may be requested.)
